Lomatium gormanii (aka, "Salt and pepper"), blooming in downtown Palouse, 3/2/21
I have decided that I am going to try to photograph the blooms of as many native flowers as I can this year, mainly in my own prairie restoration. This little flower (about 3/8" across) is an exception, here blooming near railroad tracks in "downtown" Palouse, but these are the first flowers that bloom here, and I wanted to start with them. We had an exceptionally warm December a couple of years ago, and these bloomed in late December (!), but they usually bloom in February, as they did this year.
